More Duluth Flood Photos

These two photos show the flooding that occurred on two of our trails during the flood on Wednesday. I'm happy to say that the water levels have gone down greatly here at my house, though many others have not been as lucky.

The Great Flood of Duluth 2012

HOLY COW! Where is Noah when ya need him?! Duluth has accumulated almost 9 inches of rain in the last 12 hours, and it's caused a flash flood throughout the city! Here's a couple pictures of the culvert down by my driveway that is flooding our woods. This culvert hasn't flown much at all in the last few years, but man is it flowing now! Spring Awakening!

Good evening! This weekend has been absolutely beautiful weather-wise. The temperature has been up to 55 degrees! Naturally, I decided to have the chickens run around outside for a while while I enjoy the outdoors. They ate some grass for while and then went off to go take some dust-baths. The snow we got up here on Leap Day is melting fast! With temperatures like this, and no snow, we're certain to have a wonderful spring!

Super Bowl Sunday!

Good afternoon! So who's excited for the Super Bowl? I AM! It's another excuse to lay on the couch and eat fattening foods! (Just kidding!) I enjoy watching the commercials. So, just a little while ago, we went out to check on the chickens, and we found this little guy! Isn't he CUTE? He's a star-nosed mole, not a shrew like we originally thought. Have fun watching the big game tonight!

Happy New Year! We got another fresh coat of snow last night, and I'm anxious to go skiing today! Here's to 2012!!

It's a White Christmas After All!

Hello! It has again been quite a while since I've posted, but hopefully I can escape this busy streak in 2012! Lately, we haven't had much snow, and it's been almost melting away due to rain (ICK!)

Today, however, we finally got a decent snow covering! It's going to be a white Christmas after all! That also means some nordic skiing for my sister and me tomorrow! (YEAH! :] )

For this holiday weekend, my family and I will be dog-sitting for some neighbors. They have two very sweet dogs that I look forward to caring for. I'll get some photos of the snow tomorrow, but for now, have sweet dreams of Yuletide joy! -Kathy.

Disney Live!

Hello and Happy Sunday! This Friday night, my family and I attended Disney Live! Three Classic Fairytales at the DECC. It was a WONDERFUL and SPECTACULAR show. The show brings the stories of Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle to life! The music brings you back to your childhood, and it's really an enchanting experience. The special effects are brilliant, and the costumes are incredible. I highly recommend this show for kids of all ages! Whether you're 1 or 101, you'll love the show! Especially if you're a huge Disney fan. (As I am :] )
