Mr. Cardinal!

This is the male cardinal who's been hanging around our house this summer. There is also a female cardinal, but we haven't been able to take a photo of her yet.

As you may have noticed, my blog posting has been slowing down a bit, and I will being slowing down even more as we approach fall and winter. It gets to be a super busy time for me.

MEGA Trail Camera Update!!!!!!

WOW! This is so exciting but super scary! This is the greatest amount of animals we've ever caught on the trail camera!!! IN JUST 3 DAYS!!!!

We've had another visit from the cat!

AND a coyote or brushwolf of some sort!

Chip-Munkin' around!

Around 30 minutes ago, I spotted this chipmunk outside and since we haven't seen many of them this year, I knew I had to get a photo of him for my blog! I tried to gain his trust by giving him some bread and just talking to him about random things. After a few minutes, he climbed up into this bush and I got this photo of him! CUTE! Have a wonderful day!

I was taking a photo of my shadow for fun, and Eve happened to step in the photo! Even though it didn't turn out the way I expected it to, somehow the photo now looks absolutely perfect! <3

It's that time of year again!

Around this time of year, the flying ants emerge form their nests--ICK! Here's a snapshot of a bunch of them on our sidewalk! The red ants didn't like them too well. They were all over that patch of grass! (See the neighboring grass & leaves for more ants)

Bella gets a bath!

Bella got a bath today! Doesn't she look beautiful now?? She was so well-behaved the whole time! <3 <3

And later on, we took Bella for a walk and found the chickens down in the pine trees by the road! Marshmallow looks like she's saying "Oh, hey..how did I get down here?....I never get in trouble mom....."

Fun at the Fair!

Today we went to the Carlton County Fair in Barnum, MN! The weather actually cooperated this year! It was only 71 degrees today-- perfect for a fair! As much fun as it was, when we got home, we were all SLUGS! All that walking around really gets to a person! Anyways, enjoy these photos!

We caught this little fella on the trail camera this morning! Pretty, isn't he? I just hope he wasn't behind the deaths of the two chickens we lost recently!

Do You See What I See?

We found this little guy while walking Bella, our dog. She went off the trail and stopped directly over this little cutie. We pulled her away before she could do any harm to him. We suspect there were more in the area, Bella got really anxious around that part of the trail. Happy Monday! -Kathy.

I'll have some photos to post tomorrow morning of a Duluth Huskies game we are attending tonight! Since this is their last game of the season, there will be fireworks, which means perfect photo opportunities for me! (YAY!)

I'm Back!

Hello Readers! I was away for two days helping a relative move out of her old house and into her new townhome! Since it was my last time there, I knew I had to bring my camera and take some great snapshots of her flower gardens! I'll post more later, but this is one picture I HAVE to share with you all right now!

Hailstorm Update!

The photo of my hand holding the piece of hail was on 2 different newscasts last night!!! They said my name and everything! I'm still so excited! :) Today's photo will be up sometime later today!

Hailstorm!

Only about 30 minutes ago, a rather violent hailstorm made its way through the Duluth area! I got some pretty good pictures after the storm passed! Thank goodness all 7 chickens were hiding safely in the coop during the storm! No matter what anybody says, chickens are not stupid! And I just emailed these photos to Justin Liles, a local weatherman, and I got a reply saying thanks for the photos! They will probably be on the air tonight! I'm so psyched!!!!
